NA Bars & Bottle Shops
The honest truth first: as of October 2026, there is no dedicated non-alcoholic bar in Northern Virginia itself, and no NA-only bottle shop on the Virginia side of the river. What follows is everything that does exist — verified, with the gaps stated plainly.
How this list was built: every listing below was verified against the business's own site, local press, or Google Business listing in October 2026. Places that closed or changed are noted, not silently dropped.
Dedicated NA bars
Binge Bar
The metro's only dedicated alcohol-free bar. Filipino bistro downstairs; the bar pours mocktails, non-alcoholic beer and wine, plus THC drinks. Opened 2023, still going. Worth the trip across the river.
Tue–Sun from 4 PM, per Google listing — confirm before heading over.
Spark Social (sober-friendly, no longer NA-only)
Opened in March 2025 as DC's dedicated NA LGBTQ+ bar. As of late 2025 it serves alcohol alongside NA options on a one-for-one "booze/boozeless" menu. Still a welcoming, sober-friendly room — just no longer an alcohol-free space, so we're listing it with that caveat.
NA bottle shops
Plant Magic Bottle Shop
Boutique NA bottle shop inside Union Market — "a café within a bodega." Stocks NA beer, wine, and spirits, plus their signature functional mocktails with adaptogens. Try drinks at the bar cart, take bottles home.
Arrowine & Cheese
Not NA-only, but this Arlington wine-and-cheese shop (open since 2007) carries a genuinely notable collection of non-alcoholic wines. The closest thing to an NA bottle shop on the Virginia side.
Breweries pouring NA
Dirt Farm Brewing
A real Loudoun brewery taproom with five NA beers on tap, including their Take Flight NA series. The full beer-hall experience — mountain views, live music days — with zero alcohol required.
Gone but remembered
Umbrella Dry Drinks (permanently closed)
Alexandria's NA bottle shop and dry bar — the metro's second dedicated NA bar after Binge. Launched with serious backing and still couldn't make it. Its site now reads simply "WE ARE CLOSED!" We're keeping it here as a reminder that the demand is real and the Virginia-side gap is still wide open.
The gaps (a.k.a. opportunities)
- No dedicated NA bar in NoVA. Both Virginia attempts are gone; Binge Bar in DC stands alone.
- No NA-only bottle shop in NoVA. Arrowine covers wine; everything else means crossing the river.
- No kava bars in NoVA. Searches turn up hookah lounges, not kava — another open lane.
If you open one, we'd love to feature you.
